CUSTOM FILTER PLUGINS

Symantec™ Enterprise Vault Journaling System enables Symantec™ partners to work with the APIs provided by Symantec™ to manipulate the stream of ingested data. Globanet became the first third-party to take advantage of these APIs with the release of Symantec™ Enterprise Vault Version 5 (the program is now in its 7th version).

These Plug-Ins allow for the development of rules that select messages based on various criteria, such as email message, user attribute, email message direction and subject. After selection, a wide variety of actions can be taken, including assignment of particular retention category setting, storing of archived message in particular vault or deletion.

For example, an extremely simple Plug-In could indefinitely retain all communications sent to or from users with the “Legal” attribute while messages from users marked as “Support Staff” are retained for a period of only one year.
